| Now we know what a big budget Shadowboxer Thriller Ed Wood would. From a script by Academy Award nominated writer, Academy Award and two players to win a Spirit Award nominated film, director Lee Daniels manages to offer a ridiculous mess. The story seems to take place in some Bizarro world where everyone takes too much makeup, Doogie Howser is living with a crackhead grotesque, and most of the girlie gang act like children. Cuba Gooding, Jr., spends most of the initiative seeks to upset or embarrassed. Joseph Gordon Levitt, Stephen Dorff and Monique give game performances, but the great Helen Mirren can not overcome Daniels' ham-handed direction. Shadowboxer while showing all the Ed Wood of the incompetence and unintentional humor, which has no charm who made a cult favorite Mr. Wood. |
| Almost all professional critics panne this film, saying how the above is violent from beginning to end (not true, there is violence, but not all), how the story is convoluted (which is very easy to follow - you have to be an idiot for not being able to understand what is happening), how bad the acting is (lie), and how raw the sex scenes between Helen Mirren and Cuba Gooding Jr are (that worked for me). Maybe in a few years, more people discover the Shadowboxer movie for them and find out how well it is. The DVD film Shadowboxer has a kind of doomed palpable atmosphere, which serves as the brilliant, because all the main characters are severely compromised in one way or another. This is a dark story, beautifully brought to life by all concerned. Helen Mirren takes the full weight of his amazing ability to tap into the humanity of any character that portrays Cuba Gooding Jr is perfect in a role that finally allows you to display at least some of their depth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt shines as always, Dorff comes through as always, including Macy Gray is good in this Shadowboxer Thriller movie and I'm not a fan. The problem, I think, is that critics are comparing this to other films, notably Quentin Tarantino's, and this is completely unfair. Shadowboxer creates its own reality, which works very convincing for the duration of the experiment. I suggest you get a copy of the DVD, as I did, and discover for yourself. |
| I must say that this Shadowboxer movie is extremely rare. The Cuba Gooding Jr. is not surprising. Always at the height of the roles of characters in most movies. It was good. The producer uses the colors and the slowness of the great images in all the scenes on the right. (Especially the love scenes). From the beginning to the end of this DVD film Shadowboxer is a bit mysterious. It sticks with you after the end credits are rolling. You should see it and pay close attention to the dialogue to understand what is really happening. It is not an action Shadowboxer Thriller movie (although there are scenes of violence), and the only thing that grabs your attention is how the DivX film Shadowboxer actually ends. After seeing how it ends, I must say that the end was very predictable (this does not mean that the end was horrible, it was great). If you are in mystery movies you want to collect it, but do not expect anything important. Should there be a sequel! |
| There is no question of the inclusion of a spoiler. Frankly I do not find a discernible understandable story, so how can there be a spoiler. The only reason this movie: Shadowboxer has a "1" rating from me, because I think that any idea of Helen Mirren, however unpleasant, is something worthwhile. Not much, though in this case. Helen must have the money to take part in this failure. As others have said, this is easily one of the worst movies ever produced. Disguised under false colors for one thing. Actually, it should be marketed as pornography and the sale of pornography in stores. I can not conceive that pornography can not be considered absolutely offensive to some people, but this movie: Shadowboxer seems determined to offer something offensive to everyone. If you are a fan of Helen Mirren, for myself, my advice is to forget this. I reran one of its DVI Joan Tennison (Prime Suspect) movies to take the bitter taste. So why check the "spoiler" box? Some people might interpret this comment a "spoiler"! |
| The DivX film Shadowboxer has its faults, like the blonde wig that lasts for years and then disappear without comment, but I have to admit that, overall, the film: Shadowboxer was well prepared. It moves in a clip that supports the category and strange characters. Some of the pairings are great .. Are there really people walking among us who are well? I prefer to believe that only exist in the minds screenwriters. Mirren was her usual excellent self Gooding shows they really can act. The question is who was in love or just controlled by it. Do not wait for a nude scene with a woman of her age, but was handled very well. Music are also excellent choices. I have not seen any comment on that aspect of the film. |
